Katie’s 14th Birthday

So I know I’m behind but it’s been so busy. For Katie’s 14th Birthday she asked for a painted room. So we started getting ready the week before her birthday. She wanted Chevrons and she’s had her colors picked out for a few months. I told her she could help paint. So David figured out the chevrons and Katie and I painted everything. The chevrons were a little difficult to do just because David wanted to make sure that they were very even. He did a great job! He and Katie measured it all out and drew lines with a chalk line then put up the tape and smoothed all the edges so I could paint the colors.

The mirror on her door is new for her birthday and so is the comforter. Then we painted all her pictures frames to match her new colors. We hope to paint her night stand and dresser too eventually to match.

We’ve decided to take the kids out for a special birthday dinner to a place of their choice. Katie wanted to go to Tucanos Brazillian Grill for quite a while now. So we got her a free birthday dinner card from their birthday club and took her to dinner. She enjoyed it and we made her try chicken hearts for the first time. She didn’t really love them.

We didn’t go crazy making a cake this year for Katie. She requested a large chocolate cake so after hearing raving reviews of the Costco Chocolate Cake we decided we’d get that. We added the Cherries. It was delicious!

Katie also got a fun money jar and card from Grandma and Grandpa Egley and a card and $2 Bill from Grandma and Grandpa Saville.

I delivered a rose to the school for Katie from David and I and when she got home so had a package from her good friend Kaitlin in Montana. She also had a friend Chrissy who decorated her locker for her in the morning and left a lot of Chocolate in there.

I think she was spoiled a lot and I believe if you asked her she’d agree in saying she had a fantastic 14th Birthday. Oh and she also moved into the Miamaid group at Young Women’s which she was very excited about. The other things she is excited about is going to the Stake dances. She even had a Young Man in our Ward remind her on Facebook to get her dance card from the Bishop. Too many Young Men like my girl in my opinion. I’m just thankful their all such Fantastic Young Men.
