Tax Return Splurge

So like several people I know, we like to splurge a little when our Tax Returns come. This year we are firstly and most importantly paying off our new refrigerator and David and I’s bedroom set.

The first thing we are really splurging on is a new receiver, apparently we need to upgrade. When my husband says we need to upgrade I usually do not argue. He really thinks these things through before he makes any kind of a money spending decision and he always researches for weeks before he decides what is best for our need.

The second thing we splurged on is a Canon Rebel EOS T2i DSLR. A few months ago we sold our older digital Canon to our niece. We had used it for about 8 years and it was still in good working order but not quite what we wanted anymore. So then we decided that we’d use a small point and shoot camera until we were ready to buy a new DSLR. We’ve gotten tired of the crappy pictures and decide now was as good as time as any. This last summer my brothers, dad and I went in together to get my mom this same camera. She has loved it and it has come down in price since we all got her hers so David and I decided it would be a perfect camera for us. I know it’ll do more things than I’ll ever learn to do but when I really want a nice picture I know I’ll be able to get one. I’m positive it’ll last us a very long time.

After it charged and after David played with it a little them I played with it a little and took some very beginner simple pictures. I’m excited to learn how to use it best.

  1. I just bought that exact came camera :-) I am still trying to figure it out - have no idea how to get it to work on the auto setting so I'm forced to figure out the manual focus HA! I am taking a photography class soon from a friend though so I think that will help. :-)
