Getting Ready for Back to School

So the kids are going back to school here in Idaho once again. We are still houseless except for the house we’re renting out. So we have started getting ready to send the kids back to school. We’ve ran into a few problems along the way. Like Madison, Jenna & Isaac’s Backpacks are packed in the storage unit and when I sent David in after them they were nowhere to be found. I’m sure they’re buried in a corner somewhere. Also all of our Tupperware for lunches is packed and several other school supplies that I ended up rebuying, everyday something else we wish we had “is packed”. That has become our answer to anyone asking where something is.

So I have bought all the kids supplies and last week I got Madison, Jenna & Isaac registered in Syringa Elementary. Madison has Mr. Delonas, Jenna has Miss Semons & Isaac has Mrs. Haskett. Today I registered Katie at Franklin Middle School. She now has a 7 hour schedule and fees to pay when I registered her. We had to pay for activities, and a uniform for Gym Class. I also bought her a new pride rally T-Shirt since her Syringa one won’t work anymore. So after buying all her school supplies which was around $80 then I still had to pay another $47 to get her registered. I really am not looking forward to the years ahead of me when I have more than one child with school fees and supplies.

Yesterday and today I started getting ready for school lunches again. On payday I’ll do most of my shopping and buy fruit cups and ham and cheese and plenty of Peanut Butter and Jam. But the last 2 days I’ve been baking their snacks. Yesterday I made Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies and Chocolate Chocolate Chip Banana muffins. Today I made Mini Pumpkin Butterscotch muffins & Peanut Butter Cup Cookies. I think tomorrow I’ll make Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies since I have left over pumpkin I need to use. All the recipes were easy and turned out great, so that should keep us going on lunch snacks for a little while and give the kids some variety.

  1. yep.....just wait till they're in high school. I had to pay $250 per girl in hs and $150 total for my middle school kids. Plus all the school supplies that came out to $165. And next year I'll have 3 in high school. I think I might die!!!
