3rd, 4th, & 5th Grade Syringa Concert

This year for the year end Spring Concert at Syringa they decided to do a benefit concert for Japan’s Earthquake/Tsunami Victims. Madison is in 3rd grade so her class sang a couple songs. Then we skipped recording the 4th grade and Katie had a speaking part for the 5th grade and they sang two songs.

I’ve been emotional all day for some reason and was holding it together quite well until one of Katie’s friends whose dad is currently serving in Bagdad sang The Star Spangled Banner. I lost control of my tears then, Emma Millward did a great  job. I’m sad we didn’t get it recorded but she sang beautifully I’m sure her parents are very proud.

So then we listened for Katie to give her speaking part. Each child spoke about their memories of their 5th grade year, their last year at Syringa Elementary. Katie spoke about her wonderful friends and how they had all been there for her when her baby brother died. She hoped that next year they have have a great year together in middle school. So yes you guessed it I cried some more. David was looking at me like I was quite strange for crying but I just couldn’t help it. I’m so proud of my big girl and can’t believe she’s growing up so fast.
